Service Contracts
FTS offers a variety of service contracts for those who wish to outsource service and maintenance to ensure equipment maintains accuracy.
Weather Station service contracts provided in the United States to the wildland fire community are specifically designed to maintain RAWS fire weather stations in conformity with NWCG NFDRS requirements. Contracts include posting station information in required databases.
All contracts include a one year warranty extension on serviced equipment.
Factory Exchange Service (FES)
This maintenance contract is directed at customers who permit no available/allowable downtime on their stations and plan to do their own sensor swap out maintenance. FTS manages and provides a set of refurbished sensors at predetermined dates, allowing the customer to undertake a sensor swap-out program at their convenience and schedule.
Return to Factory Service (RTF)
This contract is suited to customers who can take their monitoring stations out of operational use for a period each year, allowing sensors to be sent to FTS for annual overhaul and re-calibration.
Annual Onsite Maintenance (AOM)
This is the most complete maintenance contract offered, directed at customers who own a network of monitoring stations. FTS takes responsibility for complete station maintenance and management via an annual on-site station visit. FTS also stocks emergency spares to support customer first-response in the event of equipment failures. The contract includes sensor swap out, station inspection, digital photos, detailed service reports and recommendations. AOM contracts can be customized to meet the specific needs of individual customers and may be available for single stations if the station is located in an existing AOM service area.

Repair Services:
Full factory repair services are also available on an hourly labor and parts cost basis for anyone who does not have a service contract or for services outside the scope of a contract.
- InstallationAny new firmware or Axiom upgrades are installed and any recently purchased components are assembled.
- InspectionThe entire station and site are inspected for any non-compliant NFDRS issues and solutions recommended.
- DocumentationThe inspection is fully documented with a new set of photos and records, proving station’s compliance.
- TrainingThe entire service visit is also a training session for your personnel, providing station attendants with local ownership and confidence to respond to equipment issues between AOM visits.
- Shipping CoordinationAll shipping logistics and costs are covered by FTS.
- Sensor ExchangeAny necessary sensors are re-calibrated or replaced as required by NFDRS.
Your AOM contract continues to benefit you, even after your service is complete.
- Historical record maintenance - For viewing convenience, all data is uploaded to WFMI and our password protected customer site: www.ftssites.com. Every fall, station photos are uploaded to WRCC, displaying all geographical and topographical data.
- Lifecycle management planning - Full station evaluations are prepared, allowing station owners to plan for and repair schedules.
- Warranty extension - full station warranty for all components is extended by an additional year.
- Premium support - Get access to unlimited telephone support during business hours.
- Risk mitigation - FTS assumes responsibility for completing annual maintenance to applicable NFDRS standards.
- Reassurance - during fire season, Emergency Expedited Exchange ensures that replacement components are shipped within 24 hours of notification.
